Where are the sculptures?
The sculptures are located on a trail through the gardens, that starts at the Huakaiwaka Visitor Centre. Grab a map from there to find your way around, or follow the signs. You can have a look at the map here before you go too.

How do I vote for the Burrill People’s Choice Award?
You can vote at the Gardens when you visit – just pick up a voting form at the Huakaiwaka Visitor Centre. Or you vote online. Simply click the button below:

How much does it cost?
It's free! Sculpture in the Gardens is supported by Auckland Council and The Friends of the Auckland Botanic Gardens.

What hours are you open?
The Auckland Botanic Gardens are open 8am till 6pm in summer. It‘s best to visit when the Huakaiwaka Visitor Centre and indoor gallery are open which is 8:00am till 4:30pm daily. The Visitor Centre is closed on Christmas Day. 

What hours is Café Miko open?
Monday to Friday 8am to 3.30pm
Saturday and Sunday 8am to 4pm
Kitchen closes daily at 2.30pm
Café Miko is closed Christmas Day. 

When does the exhibition close?
Sunday 2 March 2025

Where are the toilets?
Bathrooms are situated along the trail:
• in the Huakaiwaka Visitor Centre
• in the Rose Garden
• beside the Potter Children's Garden
• beside the Library

Where can I get a drink?
You can buy drinks from Café Miko, from the Moo Café halfway along the route, or fill your own bottle at our drinking fountains outside the Library, and outside the Rose Garden.

Can I use a mobility scooter?
You can bring your mobility scooter, or book to use one of ours for free. Follow the trail markers, and look out for the mobility icon for the correct paths. The lawns are not suitable for scooters, so some sculptures may need to be admired from afar.

What are the accessibility options?
There are wheelchairs and mobility scooters you can book at the visitor centre for free. Pre booking is advised in the height of summer and weekends ph 09 267 1457 ext 1.
We offer guided walks for all abilities, including those who are blind or vision impaired. We also offer walks with a sign-language interpreter. Contact the event organisers to find out more info@sculptureinthegardens.nz 

Why is there no information at some sculptures? 
As well as this exhibition, we have 27 permanent sculptures in the gardens. They won't have the exhibition signage. Click here to find out more about them. They are also listed on the back of the trail map that you can collect when you go through the Visitor Centre.
