Lynden Over and Christine Robb met at art school, both completing a Bachelor of Applied Arts. They work collaboratively and separately, and together run Lava Glass, a popular destination in Taupo. 

Lynden is the main artist at Lava Glass. His style is striking – inspired by the distinctive and dramatic New Zealand landscape; its geology and its light.

Lava Glass promotes blown glass with a glass blowing gallery, art classes and demonstrations, a café, and a sculpture garden all inspiring thousands of visitors each year.

Lynden and Christine also demonstrate how an art business can be environmentally successful. They have recently achieved carbon neutral certification. Thousands of trees planted, staff electric vehicles and an electric (not gas) furnace all aid this quest, which is a world first for a glass blowing gallery. We love that art and environmental enhancement are partners in their story.
